For Gemstone Importers — detail
Documentation is destination-specific
What has to accompany a shipment depends on where it is going, what it is, and its value. Requirements differ between markets and they change, so the practical approach is to tell us the destination at the requirement stage rather than at despatch.
Where a laboratory report forms part of the documentation, it needs to be commissioned before the stone ships — retro-fitting one means the stone travels twice.
Describe goods accurately
The description on the paperwork should match what is in the parcel, including treatment. A shipment described in a way that does not match its contents is a problem for the importer far more than for the exporter.
This is the practical reason we record treatment per stone: the disclosure that reaches you is the disclosure that can go on the documents.
Consolidating a shipment
Where several requirements are being filled at once, consolidating them into a single despatch is usually the sensible choice. Tell us if you are building toward a consolidated shipment and we will hold and group accordingly.
Buyer questions
For Gemstone Importers
- What documentation do you provide?
- It depends on the destination and the goods. Tell us the destination country with your requirement and we will confirm what is needed for that shipment before anything is despatched.
- Can you consolidate several orders into one shipment?
- Yes. Say that you are building toward a consolidated despatch and we will hold and group the stones rather than sending them piecemeal.
